Jefferson said the district took "swift and immediate action" upon learning of the cyber security breach and that the threat has been "successfully contained."

MANSFIELD -- Mansfield City Schools have made some educational scheduling changes, moves officials announced on the district's website on Monday.

Sherman Elementary School, Mansfield Middle School and Mansfield Senior High School will shift to remote learning due to power and heat issues from Tuesday, Nov. 17, through Friday, Nov. 20.

In addition, fifth-grade students ONLY at Malabar Intermediate will move to remote learning due to a shortage of available staff from Wednesday, Nov. 18 through Tuesday, Nov. 24.

During the district school board meeting Tuesday evening, the board is expected to vote to accept a $91,020 grant from the Richland County Board of Commissioners to help fund mobile "hotspots" for families within the district.

The county is providing the funds through money it received via the federal CARES Act.
