BUCYRUS -- The teen-age son of Bucyrus Police chief has died, according to a post at the Bucyrus Police Facebook page.
"We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Perry Koepke, son of police Chief David and Carla Koepke," the post states. "The City of Bucyrus family and the entire community mourn for David, Carla and family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them in this difficult time."
A Facebook post at the Upper Sandusky E.V. Schools page also acknowledged Koepke's death.
"The Upper Sandusky Student Community begins today with a heavy heart with the loss of one of our fellow Rams," the post reads. "Today as we mourn the tragic loss of Perry Koepke, school mental health support staff will be available in the High School Library and Guidance offices for any students who are in need of extended support and compassion through the grieving process."
Counselors and support staff will be at the school all day Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the library for any students or family members who would like to talk.
