Bucyrus crash

Two people were hurt in this Wednesday morning crash in Bucyrus.

BUCYRUS -- Two people were injured and transported to the hospital after a Wednesday morning traffic crash in Bucyrus, according to a police report.

Bucyrus authorities said police investigated an injury crash at approximately 8:20 a.m. at the intersection of Hopley Ave., S. East St. and E. Lucas St.

Bucyrus Fire and Portsmouth EMS responded and the driver and passenger of a southbound Chevrolet with a green light were transported for care. A Saturn SUV was west on Hopley Ave. and ran a red light, police reported. No names were disclosed by police in the report.

Both vehicles were disabled and towed from the scene. The driver of the Saturn was issued a citation for the red-light violation and driving under suspension.

11:32 a.m. Officers took a minor two vehicle accident report at the corner of Sherman St. and Irving St.

12:59 a.m. Officers assisted with a vehicle lockout at Walmart.

1:04 p.m. Officers did a well-being check in the 1500 block of Fairview Ave.

2:47 p.m. A Bucyrus resident came to the Police Department to report a theft.

3:30 p.m. One summons was served at the Police Department for Property Maintenance Code Violation.

3:47 p.m. A report of a suspicious person in the 100 block of Dudley Street was a solicitor without a permit.

4:28 p.m. A domestic disturbance in the 200 block of Wayne Avenue was investigated.

5:25 p.m. Officers spoke to a juvenile at the Police Department about a domestic situation.

5:58 p.m. A disturbance in the 1700 block of Marion Road was investigated.

6:43 p.m. A report of a theft from Ehrhart’s was investigated.

7:12 p.m. Officers attempted to check the welfare of a subject in the 1500 block of Fairview Avenue.

8:48 p.m. A disturbance in the 600 block of S. Walnut Street was a camper that tipped over.

9:23 p.m. A resident in the 500 block of Prospect Street reported juveniles in the area damaging property.

11:33 p.m. Officers checked on a suspicious vehicle in the 600 block of W. Southern Avenue.

11:35 p.m. A disturbance in the 300 block of E. Rensselaer Street was investigated. A subject involved in an altercation had a minor injury and declined assistance from EMS.

Wednesday, Oct. 23

12:35 a.m. A traffic citation was issued in the area of Sandusky and Mary Street.

1:15 a.m. A resident in the 300 block of E. Rensselaer Street reported being assaulted by three teens known to him and his pocketknife and phone were taken. This was a retaliation for an earlier disturbance.

1:30 a.m. A verbal traffic warning was issued in the 300 block of W. Mary Street.

1:45 a.m. A domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of Reid Street was mediated.

3:24 a.m. Officers located a juvenile out past curfew in the area of Tiffin and Irving Street. He was released to a family member.

8:05 a.m. A non-injury crash was investigated at the intersection of E. Southern Ave. and Whetstone St.

9:04 a.m. Officers investigated a non-injury crash at the intersection of S. Walnut St. and E. Southern Ave. One vehicle was towed and a citation was issued.
