MARION – Marion City Grant Middle School will be the site for the 2019 National Night Out block party in Marion Tuesday, August 6.
The annual event, which promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
This free event will feature food, fun and live entertainment, including a live performance by local favorite New Park Drive. There will be a Mascot Dance-Off, and safety forces from Marion County will be on hand with their safety vehicles. Fireworks will follow the festivities thanks to support from Marion Community Credit Union.
“We are excited to partner with the Marion City Police Department for this wonderful event at Grant Middle School for our community,” district spokesman Chris Stone said. “School Resource Officer Dunaway does a great job organizing this event, which allows the Marion City Schools to work collaboratively with our local government and business community to promote unity in Marion.”
A large contingent of local businesses and service organizations will be on-site, along with public safety personnel, during the evening’s festivities. Many Marion-area businesses have provided in-kind donations to help make this event possible.
Presidential Drive will be closed to accommodate the evening’s many wonderful activities. Bring your family to enjoy great hometown music, spend time with public safety officials and local organizations and businesses, and get to know your neighbors in Marion.
