GALION – The Galion-Crestline Area Chamber of Commerce has made the decision to hold their “Annual Holiday Open House and Auction” as a hybrid event in 2021.
This event was established in 2004 and is the largest non-dues income generator for the chamber each year. This event allows the chamber to keep their membership dues affordable, continue to advocate for businesses and pursue economic development opportunities for the area.
The silent auction will be a virtual auction again in 2021 and will open on Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 5 p.m. and run through 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2. Winners of auction items will receive an email at the conclusion of the auction on Dec. 2 to let them know of items won from the auction. Items can then be picked up at the chamber office starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 3.
“We hope you will start your holiday shopping with us,” explained Miranda Jones, Executive Director. “This is such a fun community event for our members, and we are excited to give our membership a great way to gain exposure for their businesses and to support us, as we have supported them throughout the year.”
On Thursday, Dec. 2, the chamber will hold an in-person event at The Hub at Village Square, 311 N. Seltzer St. in Crestline. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the LIVE Auction will begin promptly at 7 p.m. The cost to attend the in-person event is $20 this year due to rising costs and COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place.
Seats are limited, so call the chamber office to see if there is still availability to attend. This year’s in person event will also include a complimentary photo booth and a “Wine Pull” sponsored by Riverside Drive Thru.
Tables sponsors for the annual event are Avita Health System, Cleaning By Carrie, Guy’s Insurance, Iberia Earthworm Construction, Signature HealthCare, and Snyder Funeral Homes, Richardson-Davis Chapel.
Co-Sponsors for the event are Cander Excavating, Carter Machine, Dostal & Kirk, Dzugan Real Estate Services, Firelands Federal Credit Union, First Federal Bank of Ohio, First Federal Community Bank, Huntington, Mizick Miller, Park National Bank, and Walter & Company Financial Service.
Tickets for the chamber’s annual raffle will also be available for $20 through the online auction site, or from any chamber board member or ambassador. The drawings for the $250, $500, $750, and $1000 prizes will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2 at the live-in person event and winners will be posted to the Chamber’s Facebook page.
The Chamber office, located at 138 Harding Way West in Galion will be open for viewing of the auction items on Monday, Nov. 29 from 4 to 6 p.m. and again on Tuesday, Nov. 30 from 8 to 10 a.m. This will be an opportunity to see items in person and start bidding. Masks are not required, but highly encouraged and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
“The online auction can be found on the event tab of our website,” said Jones. “Items have been updated daily, as they come in. We are so thankful for our members and appreciate their support.” The website link to the auction is: https://www.32auctions.com/ChamberHolidayAuction2021.
