GALION – The Galion-Crestline Area Chamber of Commerce has made the decision to hold their “Annual Holiday Open House and Auction” as a virtual online auction only in 2020.
This event was established in 2004 and is the largest non-dues income generator for the chamber each year. This event allows the chamber to keep their membership dues affordable, continue to advocate for businesses and pursue economic development opportunities for the area.
The virtual auction opened on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 5 p.m. and run through 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3. Winners of auction items will receive an email at the conclusion of the auction on Dec. 3 to let them know of items won from the auction. Items can then be picked up at the chamber office starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 4.
“We hope you will stay safe at home and start your holiday shopping with us,” explained Miranda Jones, Executive Director. “This is such a fun community event for our members, and we are excited to still be able to give our membership a great way to gain exposure for their businesses and to support us, as we have supported them throughout the year.”
Sponsors for the annual event are Avita Health System, Cander Excavating, Carter Electric, Cleaning By Carrie, Elliott Machine Works, Firelands Federal Credit Union, First Federal Bank of Ohio, First Federal Community Bank, Paran Management, Huntington, Magnolia Terrace, Mid-Ohio Insurance Solution, Mizick Miller, Park National Bank, Seneca-Crawford Area Transportation, and Snyder Funeral Homes, Richardson-Davis Chapel.
Tickets for the chamber’s annual raffle will also be available for $20 through the online auction site, or from any chamber board member or ambassador. The drawings for the $250, $500, $750, and $1000 prizes will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3 via the Chamber’s Facebook page.
The Chamber office, located at 138 Harding Way West in Galion will be open for viewing of the auction items on Monday, Nov. 30 from 4 to 6 p.m. and again on Tuesday, Dec. 1 from 8 to 10 a.m. This will be an opportunity to see items in person and start bidding. Masks will be required, and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
“The online auction can be found on the event tab of our website,” Jones said. “Items have been updated daily, as they come in. We are so thankful for our members and appreciate their support.”
