GALION -- Galion City Schools has embarked on a project to recognize and thank area veterans, and their families, for their service.

The district has created, and is making available, a total of 250 “Thank You” yard signs for veterans to display.

“We wanted to do something extra special, on a district level, to say ‘Thank You’ to our veterans,” Supt. Jennifer Allerding said. “We hope area veterans, and their families, will accept this small token of appreciation from the students, staff, and administration of the Galion City Schools.”

A total of 250 yard signs will be available until they have all been handed out.

Any veteran, or anyone that knows a veteran, can pick one up at any of the following locations now through Veterans Day; Galion City Schools Board Office (8 am-4 pm), Galion-Crestline Area Chamber of Commerce (9 am-3 pm), Galion VFW, Galion American Legion, the Army-Navy Garrison, and Galion Amvets Post 1979.

Contact Allerding at 419-468-3432 or email allerding.jennifer@galionschools.org for additional information or with questions.
