earth day

BUCYRUS -- The Crawford County Park District will host an Earth Day Fair on April 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598.

The park district is partnering with many local organizations on the event, which is aimed at getting people thinking about the 3 R’s — Reduce, Reuse, Recycle — and also about sustainability, creating backyard habitat and more.

There will be many “green” table displays and activities. The following displays and activities planned include: Recycle Trailer and display from Crawford County Solid Waste District; interactive “living stream” display from ODNR Scenic Rivers Program; recycled projects from Lisa Smith’s 4th grade class (Colonel Crawford); Composting Demo from the Soil and Water Conservation District; Native Plant Sale; Recycled Nature Craft; Natural pesticides display; “mud play;" and displays from local businesses that demonstrate the focal points of this event.

A trailer will be there here from Crawford County Solid Waste for collecting recycling. During the Earth Day Fair, paper shredder will also be on site.

Lowe-Volk Park is located three miles north of U.S. 30. For more information, contact the Crawford Park District office at 419-683-9000.
