BUCYRUS -- Two people were arrested and heroin, pills and other suspected drugs were discovered when METRICH and the Crawford County Sheriff's Office conducted a raid in Bucyrus on Friday.

According to a Bucyrus Police report, Megan C. Phillips, 28, and Nicholas C. Biederman, 33, were apprehended after authorities descended on the 800 block of East Mansfield Street at approximately 12:19 p.m. on Friday. 

Bucyrus Police officers assisted Crawford County Sheriff’s Deputies, CCSO detectives and METRICH who were serving an arrest warrant for a variety of drug charges to arrest Phillips on a warrant on indictment. Detectives arrested her and located suspected heroin, pills and other unknown drugs. Phillips was held on her warrant and she is facing other felony drug charges once the drugs are identified.

CCSO detectives also arrested Biederman after a brief foot chase. He is facing Obstructing justice, Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of drug abuse instrument charges.

Friday, Aug. 9

7:27 a.m. Officers spoke to a man in the 1600 block of Marion Rd. about a civil issue.

8:01 a.m. Officers attempted a residential lockout on Forrest Hills Ct.

9:38 a.m. A false alarm was received in the 1300 block of Woodlawn Ave.

9:52 a.m. Officers assisted capturing a bat flying in a building in the 200 block of W. Rensselaer.

10:31 a.m. Officers assisted Crawford County Sheriff’s Deputies in the SR98 N area looking for subjects after a report of a woman jumping out of a vehicle in the area. OSHP and Sheriff’s Deputies located all parties involved in the domestic dispute.

11:56 a.m. Officers assisted EMS in the 500 block of Failor Ave.

1:43 p.m. A report of a reckless driver from Marion to Bucyrus was reported. The caller left the 1700 block of Whetstone prior to officers’ arrival.

1:58 p.m. Officers picked up a speaker that was left in the 800 block of Woodlawn Ave.

2:30 p.m. A motorist was issued a citation for red light violation in the 500 block E. Mansfield St. The motorist ran a red light almost striking the police cruiser.

2:49 p.m. Officers responded to a dispute involving 2 males and a female. One of the males involved was the victim of a dog bit caused by the other man’s dog. An ER nurse driving by stopped to assist and EMS responded for the victim of the dog bite. The County Dog Warden also responded for the dog. Timothy Bucher, 51, was arrested in the 800 block of Clay St on charges of felonious assault. He was taken to Crawford County Justice Center to be held for court.

3:20 p.m. A report of a person trespassing in the 800 block of Hopley Ave. was investigated.

3:22 p.m. Officers assisted with a vehicle lock out in the 200 block of E. Warren St.

3:39 p.m. A traffic complaint was taken in the 600 block of Prospect St.

3:59 p.m. A private property accident was taken in the 1400 block of N. Sandusky Av. A subject backed into a pole at Cooper’s Market.

4:37 p.m. A landlord tenant dispute was investigated in the 1200 block of Teddy Av.

5:02 p.m. A domestic dispute was reported in the 400 block of Wallace Av.

6 p.m. A civil standby was requested in the 800 block of Clay St.

6:52 p.m. Officers assisted with a vehicle lock out in the 800 block of S. Sandusky Ave.

6:56 p.m. A disturbance was reported in the 1600 block of Marion Rd.

7:34 p.m. Officers assisted a citizen in the 900 block of E. Warren St. They had a water pipe leak and needed the water department and the water was shut off.

8:47 p.m. A report of a suspicious vehicle making threats in the 1700 block of Marion Rd. was investigated. The reported vehicle and occupants were later contacted by Shelby PD after a notice was issued. There are no charges stemming from the matter.

9:20 p.m. Officers assisted with a residential lock out in the 1000 block of E. Beal Ave.

9:53 p.m. A report of fireworks in the area of Waterford Glen was investigated.

9:58 p.m. A domestic dispute was investigated in the 600 block of E. Oakwood Ave.

9:10 p.m. A verbal traffic warning was issued in the area of Southern and Spring St.

9:13 p.m. A verbal traffic warning was issued in the area of Marion and Mader Dr.

10:34 p.m. A verbal traffic warning was issued in the 500 block of S. Sandusky Ave.

10:37 p.m. A verbal traffic warning was issued in the area of Sandusky and Warren St.

10:47 p.m. A verbal traffic warning was issued in the area of Sandusky and Rensselaer St.

10:46 p.m. A verbal traffic warning was issued in the 600 block of Sandusky Ave.

Saturday, Aug. 10

1:08 a.m. Officers assisted Ohio State Patrol in the 200 block of Hayes. They investigated a crash on Kirchbaum Rd. and the driver reportedly fled into the woods. Later at 12:14 p.m. Saturday, A report of a stolen vehicle was taken. The vehicle was recovered by the Ohio State Highway Patrol when they investigated a crash where a car entered a ditch and crashed into a tree stump and the vehicle was abandoned. The vehicle owner was located and had minor injuries and was cited for falsification and leaving the scene. After investigation the passenger also was cited for falsification. They are due in traffic court Wednesday.

2:20 a.m. Officers checked on a suspicious vehicle in city lot 3. The parked vehicle had been left with open doors.

2:31 a.m. A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 1600 block of Marion Rd. The motorist had located a new Pokemon spot.

2:51 a.m. Officers spoke with a subject at Bucyrus Community Hospital about a possible drug issue.

2:56 a.m. Officers assisted OSP at Mansfield and Poplar St.

5:49 a.m. A disturbance in the area of Woodbine Apts. was a neighborhood dispute.

7:11 a.m. A false alarm was received from the 200 block of N Sandusky Ave.

7:38 a.m. A disturbance in the 300 block of Iron St was investigated.

8:37 a.m. Officers assisted EMS in the 300 block of Iron St.

9:47 a.m. Officers checked on an open door at a business.

10:05 a.m. Officers completed a golf cart inspection on station.

10:06 a.m. A report of suspicious activity in the 100 block of W Mansfield St was investigated.

10:12 a.m. Officers assisted EMS in the 300 block of Iron St. The subject went with EMS voluntarily.

12:11 p.m. A Funeral escort was made from Woodlawn Church to Oakwood Cemetery.

1:16 p.m. A Clinton St resident reported vandalism to her home.

1:53 p.m. Officers investigated a parking complaint in the 100 block of Wallace Ave.

2 p.m. A warning ticket was issued in the 100 block of Wallace for a parking violation.

2:22 p.m. Officers assisted with a vehicle lock out in the 1700 block of Whetstone St.

2:31 p.m. Officers assisted with a vehicle lock out in the 700 block of Rogers St.

3:16 p.m. Officers assisted a Reid St. resident secure an open door.

3:25 p.m. A 2009 Kia Optima, black in color with no license plates was reported stolen from Crossroads Blvd since June 30. The owner had left the vehicle parked there due to a broken control arm and the vehicle was not towed to the destination in Crestline they expected it to go. Whereabouts of the vehicle purchased at a buy here-pay here dealer is unknown.

3:52 p.m. Officers responded to a civil protection order complaint and Patrick Schultz, was arrested in the 200 block of E. Irving St. on charges of violation a civil protection order. He was transported to Crawford County Justice Center to be held for court.

4:21 p.m. A welfare check was requested in the area of Mansfield and Spring St. A male was slumped over on a porch and EMS responded and transported the 30-year-old male who was highly intoxicated.

4:44 p.m. A traffic complaint about a go-cart was made in the area of Earl and Cleland Av.

4:59 p.m. A verbal traffic warning was issued in the area of Whetstone and Southern Av.

5:09 p.m. Jamie Hall, 37, was arrested in the 400 block of W. Mansfield on a Richland County warrant for drug charges. He was released to Richland County authorities.

5:51 p.m. Officers responded to a walking and loud domestic argument near the intersection of Aurora St. and Prospect St. Tasia Myers, 32 and Brad Villars, 41, were arrested in the 500 block of Prospect St on charges of disorderly conduct. They were issued criminal summonses and released with a court date.

5:57 p.m. A report of a possible breaking and entering in the area of Iron and Rensselaer St. was unfounded.

6:11 p.m. A parking complaint was investigated in the 500 block of E. Charles St. The owner will move it.

6:35 p.m. A verbal traffic warning was issued in the area of Mansfield and Hall St.

6:55 p.m. Officers investigated a reported family dispute and Brian Russell, 26, was arrested in the area of Pinewood Ct. on charges of domestic violence. He was transported to Crawford County Justice center to be held for court.

8 p.m. A traffic complaint was investigated in the area of Irving and Plymouth St. A semi-tractor trailer grazed tree limbs. There was no apparent damage to the tree and scrapes on the right side of the trailer.

8:19 p.m. A traffic complaint of 4 wheelers trespassing was investigated in the 200 block of N. Highland Av.

9:21 p.m. A traffic citation was issued in the area of Highland and Woodlawn Av.

9:39 p.m. A juvenile complaint was taken in the area of Norton Way and Lane St. Officers met with the parent of 4 children.

10:06 p.m. A report of suspected drug activity was made in the 1800 block of E. Mansfield St.

10:33 p.m. Officers responded to a reported overdose in the 600 block of Hopley Ave. Officers attempted resuscitation and deployed multiple doses of nasal naloxone and EMS continued life saving attempts to no avail. The Crawford County Coroner responded to the apparent fatal overdose and the matter remains under investigation.

10:45 p.m. Officers investigated a report of a suspicious person in the 500 Block of Ridge Ave. A local professional crooner and musician was practicing his craft.

10:47 p.m. A reported loud explosion was investigated in the 200 block of E Mary St. It was found to be fireworks.

11:09 p.m. Officers took a report of vandalism in the 500 block of S Sandusky Ave. Someone had put lawn chairs in the road and they were driven over.

11:18 p.m. Officers assisted a tractor trailer driver who had become stuck in the Prospect St and Southern Ave area.

Sunday Aug. 11

1:26 a.m. Officers responded to a complaint of loud music in the 600 block of S Walnut St. The resident was warned and turned the volume down.

5:03 a.m. Officers investigated an alarm in the 1600 block of Marion Rd. It was a false alarm.

9:16 a.m. A subject reported a bike missing from a rack on his truck. The motorist reported a bike taken from the vehicle bike rack while at UDF on S. Sandusky Ave.

9:26 a.m. An abandoned bike was brought on station.

10:59 a.m. Officers checked on a report of someone burning in the 1300 block of Home Circle Dr.

1:08 p.m. Officers took a minor accident report in the 900 block of Melody Lane where a motorist backed into a parked car.

2:18 p.m. A minor traffic incident in the 900 block of Marion Rd was investigated. A subject drove over a curb and damaged the underside of their vehicle causing a fluid leak. Bucyrus Fire Department responded and the driver’s vehicle was towed from the scene.

2:52 p.m. A report of a stolen cell phone was received.

3:01 p.m. A report of a fight in the 900 block of Hopley was reported. The subjects had departed the area.

3:05 p.m. A report of a domestic was investigated in the 700 block of Earl St.

3:40 p.m. A traffic complaint was investigated in the area of N. Sandusky and Irving St.

4:07 p.m. Officers attempted to serve a summons.

4:13 p.m. Officers served one income tax summons in the 1600 block of Colonial Dr.

4:17 p.m. Officers served three tax summonses in the 200 block of Heritage Cr.

4:21 p.m. Officers picked up found property in the 500 block of Failor St. A fisherman hooked an old pistol and a veteran’s star while fishing the Sandusky River near Aumiller Park.

4:36 p.m. Officers conducted follow-up regarding unauthorized use of a vehicle and Shannon Jackson 28, was arrested in the 200 block of Hayes Av. on a Crawford County warrant. He was given a court date to appear and released.

4:58 p.m. A domestic dispute was reported at the Police Department related to unwelcome messages by the complainant’s former partner.

5:26 p.m. A false alarm was investigated in the 800 block of Hopley Av.

7:39 p.m. A disturbance of noise by possible gunshots or fireworks was investigated in the area of Beal and Colonial Dr.

7:54 p.m. Eight income tax summons were served in the 700 block of Prospect St.

7:58 p.m. A domestic dispute was reported in the 1300 block of E. Southern. Officers are looking for the male involved for a probation violation.

8:29 p.m. A theft report was made in the 300 block of Lawn Av. A juvenile was taking landscape wood away and burning it.

8:39 p.m. Officers were looking for a subject from a prior complaint and Anthony Barthalow,28, was arrested in the 900 block of Wingert St. on a Crawford County warrant. He was issued a court date to appear and released. He was also served with a summons for a property maintenance code violation.

9:15 p.m. A verbal traffic warning was issued in the area of Highland and Warren St.

9:47 p.m. A report of barking dogs in the 800 block of S. East St. was investigated.

10:45 p.m. Officers responded to an alarm in the 300 block of S. Poplar St. It was a false alarm.

10:51 p.m. Officers mediated a domestic issue in the 1100 block of Sherwood Dr.

10:58 p.m. A report of a male standing in the street yelling near Maplecrest Nursing Home on Rogers St. was investigated. He was in a dispute at a nearby residence.

Monday, Aug. 12

1:29 a.m. A report of a breaking and entering in the 400 block of Sheckler St. was investigated. It was an ongoing residency issue between the parties involved.

3 a.m. A report of someone yelling in the 200 block of E. Oakwood Ave. was investigated.
