BUCYRUS – The Bucyrus Academic Boosters recognized more than 170 Bucyrus High School students for their outstanding academic achievements during the group’s annual Awards Banquet April 28.
Students in grades nine through twelve were recognized for maintaining at least a 3.0 grade point average or higher through January 2019.
“This is a special evening every year for the students, their families and the Bucyrus district,” Academic Booster representative Amy Plumley said. “It’s great to see so many students recognized for their hard work and dedication to their academic pursuits.”
Twelve members of the Class of 2019 received special recognition for maintaining a 3.75 to 4.0 grade point average during their entire high school career. This group of students included: Sebastian Ely, Kyle Hamm, Arledia Hinkle, Alissa Johnson, Lauren Kohler, Alivia Lewis, Sarah Lipscomb, Andrew Mee, Jackson Moody, Alexis Schifer, Kristen Vaughn and Allyson Zornes.
The evening concluded with four scholarships being awarded to seniors. Sarah Lipscomb, Alexis Schifer and Kristen Vaughn each received a $500 scholarship from the Bucyrus Academic Boosters, and Kyle Hamm was awarded the Larry Heid Memorial Scholarship.
