Details for Customer Service Representative – Direct Hire!

A family-owned and operated insurance company in Mansfield, Ohio is actively seeking a Customer Service Representative for direct hire!

A Customer Service Representative is responsible for:

  • Answering office phone calls and following up on company emails

  • Tracking customer information and updating necessary documentation

  • Navigating insurance renewals for customers, while providing exceptional service

  • Responding to and effectively handling all customer inquiries

  • Taking and processing payments 

  • Keeping the book of business active by requoting policies regularly

  • Assisting customers in their insurance “shopping” by presenting relevant options and cross-/up-selling

  • Becoming licensed in insurance through a 40-hour (company-paid) class

Customer Service Representatives are accountable for:

  • Accurate and timely documentation

  • Responsibly handling customer payments

  • Following up on customer inquiries via phone and/or email

  • Managing assigned customers in book of business to ensure continuous activity

  • Quoting and requoting insurance policies

  • Maintaining workspace and staying organized 


  • Previous experience in a customer-oriented capacity

  • Previous experience handling customer payments

  • Ability to function as a “hybrid” (customer service and sales)

  • Ability to be a disciplined and motivated self-starter

  • Ability to work in an open office atmosphere

  • Ability to be a team-player and contribute positively to a small team

  • Ability to multi-task and jump in to help where and when needed

  • Ability to learn new software and competently navigate technology

  • Ability to communicate professionally and in a timely manner

  • Ability to complete 40-hour licensure class independently

  • Proven ability to positively manage change in an ever-changing environment 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Insurance license is preferred, but not required


  • 8am-5pm schedule, with the potential for some flexibility
