MANSFIELD – State Representative Mark Romanchuk (R-Mansfield) announced Monday he is partnering with other regional businesses to rally the community behind Mansfield-area restaurants, who are still operating at limited capacity during the coronavirus crisis.
Romanchuk is donating a portion of his legislative salary to encourage Richland County residents to patronize these local establishments. Destination Mansfield is serving as a countywide hub of information for residents.
“Since the nationwide crisis began, I have been talking with our local business leaders and other elected officials about ways we can continue to keep our economy moving, even in these tough times," Romanchuk said. "Destination Mansfield has agreed to serve as the primary hub of information about where food is being safely prepared under CDC guidelines and where takeout, curbside pick-up, and delivery is offered to customers.
"It is vitally important that we band together and help each other and our neighbors now more than ever. We can do this in small ways like ordering takeout from a local establishment to help them stay open or buy a gift card from them.
"Also, if you know any elderly residents, give them a call to check in with them. Small actions like these can go a long way.”
Rep. Romanchuk urges all residents to visit www.DestinationMansfield.com for a complete listing of local establishments operating and open for takeout and delivery business.
Romanchuk and other businesses, including Whatman Realtors & Auctioneers, will be engaging in a paid media campaign, largely through digital advertising, to promote the restaurants and other establishments that are open and ready to serve the community.
Other businesses who wish to participate in this campaign are urged to contact either Destination Mansfield or Rep. Romanchuk.
