Richland Gives

A Richland Gives event took place on Tuesday night at Idea Works in downtown Mansfield.

MANSFIELD -- Richland Gives, an online day of giving hosted by the Richland County Foundation, raised $309,503 for 88 Richland County nonprofit organizations. Since its inception in 2015, Richland Gives has raised $724,519.

The day is designed to encourage people to contribute to local nonprofits they care about through a single giving website. The foundation hosted the day to build capacity, grow philanthropy and make the community stronger. It allows local organizations to raise funds and awareness as well as cultivate new donors and reinvigorate lapsed donors.

The Foundation awarded $44,000 in matching grants as incentives during the giving event. The nonprofit organizations that raised the most overall were awarded $3,000, for first place, $1,500 for second place and $500 for third place.

The winners in the small nonprofit category were Lucas Community Center, first, Little Buckeye Children’s Museum, second, and Discovery School, third.

The winners of the large nonprofit category were Renaissance Performing Arts Association, first, Richland Academy of the Arts, second, and Friendly House, third.
