MANSFIELD – Richland Bank President, Chris Hiner has announced two promotions. Ryan Smith has been promoted to Vice President and Scott Heimann has been promoted to Assistant Vice President.

Ryan Smith was born and raised in Ashland, Ohio. He graduated from Ashland High School in 2006, and from Ashland University in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Finance.

Ryan Smith has been promoted to Vice President at Richland Bank.

Ryan began his career at Richland Bank as a Management Associate in 2010. Upon completion of the program in October 2011, Ryan’s first placement was as manager at the Kroger Madison Banking Center. He was promoted to Administrative Manager in September 2012. A move to the Ashland Road Banking Center took place in November 2012 and a promotion to Administrative Officer soon followed.

In January, 2015 Ryan joined the Consumer Loan department with responsibilities in mortgage loan origination as well as indirect and direct consumer loan financing. He was promoted to Banking Officer in June of 2016, and a year later to AVP.

As VP, Ryan will be leading the consumer and mortgage lending efforts for the bank. Ryan has actively supported the United Way as a past board member and currently serves on its finance committee.

In a continued commitment to education and development, Ryan is a graduate of the Ohio Bankers League Bank Management School, The Wisconsin School of Banking and Leadership Unlimited. He was recently named a Richland Young Professional’s 10 under 40 Recipient.

Ryan, his wife Kayla and son Landon reside in Ashland.

Scott Heimann has been promoted to Assistant Vice President.

Scott Heimann joined the bank as a Trust Officer in January 2019 with experience in business development and marketing. He also has an extensive background in fund development, solicitation of annual giving and stewarding portfolios of major and planned gifts.

Scott is responsible for the administration of trust accounts including personal trusts, estates, and custodial accounts as well as managing agency accounts, escrow accounts, and retirement plans. He also develops new business opportunities with current and prospective customers.

Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Ashland University and a Master of Education degree in Higher Education Administration and Student Personnel from Kent State University. He is a recent graduate of the Richland County Leadership Unlimited program through the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce.

Scott’s volunteerism includes the Vice President for Richland Young Professionals, co-chair of the Resource Development Committee for Richland Academy, and is a referee for OHSAA Basketball. Scott, his wife Kayla and son Lincoln reside in Ontario.
