ONTARIO — An Ontario property being developed into a 11,232-square foot strip mall was recently sold for $1,308,800, according to recent property transfers filed with the Richland County Auditor’s Office.
Records show 994 N. Lexington-Springmill Road, former home to Ocean Buffet, was sold to CFT NV Developments, LLC, by Lin Family Property Holdings, LLC.
The former restaurant has been razed and site development is underway for a six-tenant stripmall. Construction is expected to be complete by fall.
One of the tenants for the site is expected to be Panda Express, which is in the process of getting approval from Richland County Building & Codes for interior build-out, according to Ontario Zoning Inspector Adam Gongwer.
Gongwer said all permits, fees and bonds are on file with Ontario, adding Richland County Building and Codes has also approved their building permit.
No other tenants have been formally announced, though Five Guys is a possibility.
“Five Guys has asked the developer if it would be allowed to have a 200-square foot patio on the other end of the building, opposite the Panda Express suite. But no zoning permit or official documentation has come in for Five Guys to my office yet, so it could be just a conversation between the developer and Five Guys at this point,” Gongwer said.
