“Together with volunteers, community partners and other faith-based Christian organizations, Habitat for Humanity of Richland and Crawford Counties, Inc. will revitalize lives and communities by building and renovating homes,” Executive Director, Veronna K. Drane said.
For the past 33 years, Habitat for Humanity has provided homeownership through rehabilitation and grown to include new construction. They plan to keep expanding these services over time.
“Habitat for Humanity has helped over 50 families and/or individuals realize the dream of owning a simple, decent, affordable house,” Drane said.
The past year has been busy for Habitat For Humanity, and they have big plans for 2022.
“We have worked with potential applicants and current applicants with financial literacy, as well as in qualifying for home purchase through our zero percent interest program,” Drane said. “We will be building a new home in Spring of 2022. In addition, we will look to raise funds to start another build that following year.”
Richland Gives is important for nonprofit organizations like Habitat for Humanity to grow. You can donate to Habitat for Humanity through Richland Gives here.
“Richland Gives helps link donors and deserving nonprofits. So many nonprofits struggle with a lack of donations for operating costs. It is imperative to have these costs covered so that they can help serve the community,” Drane said.
The funds that are raised will go towards supporting the organization’s mission to bring citizens together to build homes, community and hope.
“All donations have a huge impact on our ability to help those in need to help themselves.”
