Note: This Shop Small Mini-Spotlight is part of an ongoing series intended to promote local commerce over the 2018 holiday season.
Main Street Books is an independently owned and operated bookstore located at 104 N. Main St. in downtown Mansfield. They offer a broad selection of new and used books of all genres, journals, kids toys and many other gifts. If you’re looking for a local one-stop-shop for the whole family Main Street Books can help!
Founded in 1997 as part of the revitalization of the Carrousel District, Main Street Books opened with the belief that a neighborhood is not a neighborhood without a good bookstore. Since its opening, Main Street Books has expanded its offerings to include used books as well as considerably enhancing its kids section, including books and toys.
In addition to increasing its inventory, Main Street Books strives to serve the community through monthly events such as author readings, poetry readings, story-time, craft hour, book club, writing group as well as gallery openings in an effort to provide an inviting space for people of all ages and interests.
The magic of Main Street Books is in their size and independence.
“Being small and independent gives us the freedom to be neighborly and flexible in a way bigger, corporate stores cannot,” said bookstore Manager, Llalan Fowler. “If we don’t have the book you are looking for in stock, don’t worry. We can and will be sure to get it for you.”
Main Street Books prides itself on listening to customers and providing products, services and events that aren’t found elsewhere in the community.
Stop by Main Street Books to speak with Fowler and her staff, and find that perfect book or gift for your loved one this holiday season.
Shoppers who stop by on Shop Small Saturday (Nov. 24) will also receive a special 10 percent discount with the Shop Small Passport.
