MANSFIELD -- The Richland County Land Bank has been given a Freddie Mac property in the 700 block of Lenox Avenue.

The Land Bank board voted to accept the property in an emergency meeting Tuesday. Land Bank manager Amy Hamrick said Freddie Mac has donated property to the Land Bank in the past, but that it doesn't happen often.

The Land Bank has been given until Monday evening to decide whether to demolish or rehab the home onsite.

"From what we could see through the window, it could be a rehab candidate," Hamrick said.

If the Land Bank chooses to demolish the home, it could request extra funds from the federal government to cover the cost.
