CANTON – Ohio Gratings Inc., the industry leader in the manufacture of aluminum and steel bar grating, has challenged recent citations made against its Canton facilities by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA).
The OSHA citations came as a result of an inspection in December 2018.
“Ohio Gratings has filed a Notice of Contest, which will be reviewed by an impartial OSHA Review Commission judge,” said attorney Tod Morrow, who represents the company in this matter. “We anticipate that many, if not all, citations will be vacated. OSHA citations are a preliminary opinion by OSHA that there were violations of the OSH Act. It is not uncommon for citations to be thrown out by the reviewing Judge."
Recently, Ohio Gratings was recognized by the State of Ohio and the Stark County Safety Council with an achievement award for decreasing incidents by at least 25 percent from the previous year.
“Ohio Gratings is focused first on the safety and well-being of our employees,” said Shaun Eller, chief operating officer. “We employ a full-time safety manager and work with an outside firm as well. We are committed to providing the appropriate tools, communication and practices to keep our team members safe and productive.”
Ohio Gratings will report on the ruling of the OSHA Review Commission when released.
Ohio Gratings is a leader in the design and manufacture of aluminum and steel bar grating used in industrial, commercial, architectural and environmental applications.
