The center of Ontario—the geographical center—has changed through the years as the municipality has expanded in all directions incorporating Richland County’s most dynamic business district, but its original crossroads center appears to have changed hardly at all in the last 100 years.

It was certainly easier for a photographer to take this picture from the middle of the street 100 years ago than it is today without stopping a lot of traffic. Though the centers of activity may have moved away from here, this intersection still acts as the heart of Ontario pumping through its lifeblood of humanity in vehicles.
