Velma “Bodie” Louise Seitz, 81, of Mansfield, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015 at her residence. Born March 14, 1934 in Carter County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Jack and Anna (Henderson) Rose.
Bodie moved to Mansfield at the age of 16 and was a homemaker. A loving mother and grandmother, she was very devoted to her family and especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. She was the heart of her family. She also enjoyed fishing, camping and playing cards.
She is survived by two daughters, Connie (Grant) Taylor and Jacqueita “Sue” (John) Parker; five grandchildren, Pam (Bobby) Hargett, James (Cassie) Taylor, Tiffany (Jesse) Isaacs, Anne (Bryan) Rosser and Mike (Krystal) Stull; nine great grandchildren, Marissa, Alex, Destiny, Molly, Hannah, Kaleb, Braden, Tryston and Sophie; one great great granddaughter, Lucille “Lucy”; her pet, Buddy who was always faithfully by her side; special friends, Karen and Jack Swanigan; special aunt, Jean Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Rose; and three sisters, Lillian Miller, Bonnie Stillion and Audra Rose.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Ontario. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2015 at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
