It wasn’t pretty, gut-tough wins usually aren’t, but New Washington Buckeye Central wasn’t going for style points.

A victory will do, and it was earned 55-48 over Cardington in Ohio girls basketball on February 11.

The Bucks put a bow on this victory with a strong final-quarter kick, outpointing the Pirates 19-13 in the last stanza.

The Bucks broke in front at the beginning of the fourth quarter with a 36-35 lead over the Pirates.

Cardington got the better of the action throughout the first half, owning a 24-23 margin over New Washington Buckeye Central at intermission.

The Bucks moved in front of the Pirates 13-10 to begin the second quarter.
