A tight-knit tilt turned in Columbus Eastmoor’s direction just enough to squeeze past Thornville Sheridan 20-14 for a Division III Ohio high school football victory on Friday night.

The Warriors put a bow on this victory with a strong final-quarter kick, outpointing the Generals 2-0 in the last stanza.

Eastmoor carried an 18-14 lead over the Generals into the final 12 minutes.Sheridan authored a promising start, taking advantage of the Warriors 7-6 at the end of the first quarter. It remained that score at halftime, but the game turned in the third period as the Warriors surged in front.

Eastmoor has a 12-1 record as it prepares for the state semifinals. Sheridan finished at 11-2.

The OHSAA releases the state semifinal pairings and locations on Sunday.
