Mary R. Jones, 84, of Galion passed away Friday, May 27, 2016 at home surrounded by her family.
Born Dec. 9, 1931 in Richland County, she was the daughter of George P. and Violet (Bodkins) Rivers. She married Jessie B. Jones Sr. on June 28, 1952 and he preceded her on Dec. 23, 2002.
She attended South View Baptist Church in Galion and was an avid reader.
She is survived by two sons, Jessie (Vicki) Jones, of Johnsville, and John P. Jones, of Galion; four grandchildren, Robert (Charlotte) Snyder, Amanda Bush and Derik Flynn, Michelle Simpson, Melissa (Jordan) Kandel; eight great-grandchildren, Hunter Snyder, Megan Simpson, Kevan Hughett, Chloe Simpson, Madison Simpson, Kaden Simpson, Kira Bush and Braylin Kandel and one brother, Robert (Linda) Rivers of Mansfield.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Catherine Bush, three sisters, Helen Edmundson, Gladys McCulley and Myrtie Whitt and three brothers, James, Max and Carl Rivers.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 with her nephew Bill Rivers, officiating.
