Margott Adelheid Boehm, 92 of Mansfield, passed away in her home on Jan. 18, 2018.

She was born to the late Paul and Francesca Mueller in Murnau, Germany on Sept. 8, 1925. Margott immigrated to America in 1954 and worked as a domestic professional for several families in the Mansfield area, until she retired at the age of 70 when she was needed by family to help care for her grandchildren.

Margott was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend and for the longest time her home was the center of all holiday get-togethers and was filled with wonderful German foods and traditions. She was especially known for her holiday cookies which she loved to share with her family.

She could knit or crochet just about anything and in earlier years donated knitted hats and slippers to folks in need. She loved to dance, her best friend Katie Schmidt will remember good times spent dancing at the Liederkranz.

All of her grandchildren can attest to the fact that she was a wonderfully caring and loving person. She will be remembered for all of the recipes she passed down, for the many blankets, doll clothes and slippers she crocheted, for the raspberries and cookies made from their jam and for her endless generosity and selflessness, and most simply for her love.

She is predeceased by her parents; her late husband of 34 years, Georg Boehm of Mansfield, Ohio; four brothers, Paul, Gunther, Helmut, and Heinz Mueller; and two sisters, Helen Mueller and Irmgard Kluge.

Margott is survived by her sister, Gertrud Zwanzig of Cottbus, Germany; sons, Hans (Karen) Boehm and Horst (Sandy) Boehm; daughter, Margot (Steve) Haycook; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Jeffrey and Aaron Boehm, Ashley Niedermier, Emily Henson, Meagan and Amanda Haycook; and nine great grandchildren, Trevor, Madison, Gavin, Matthew, Carter, Christian and Naomi Boehm, James Niedermier; and newborn great-granddaughter, Marley Henson.

Margott requested a private burial and funeral. She will be interred next to her husband at Mansfield Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Ohio Health Palliative Care and Hospice for their support in her final days.
