Garland H. Harvey Sr., 98, of Mansfield, entered the presence of his Lord and Saviour, on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018.

Garland was born on May 9, 1920, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, to Guy H. and Ruby (Fry) Harvey. He drove truck for Duff Truck lines for 35 years.

Garland attended First Baptist Church in Shelby. He was a joke teller, and loved to travel, garden and travel to Florida. He was a staunch Republican, and an avid Cavaliers and Indians fan.

He is survived by nine children, Jacquie (Sandy) Dill, of Lima, Tom (Rose) Harvey, of Bluffton, Cheryl (Jeff) Farrone, of Mentor, Marlene (Bob) Yant, of Lima, Gary Sipes, David (Tammy) Sipes and Cheryl Sipes Mapes, both of Mansfield, and Sharon (John) Eldridge, and Garland (Jen) Harvey Jr., both of Shelby; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one sister, June Koenig, of Lima.

Garland was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie Harvey; his son, Steve Sipes; and three siblings, Jane Davis, Corabelle Wortman, and George Harvey.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018, at Werner Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, at the funeral home, with Pastor Walt Keib officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Park.
