David Charles Yosick, 63, of Bellville died Thursday morning, Aug. 25, 2016 at his home.

Born June 23, 1953 in Shelby to Kenneth Albert and Susie (Carpenter) Yosick, he was a Shelby resident until moving to Bellville in 1992. A graduate of Shelby High School, David then served his country in the U.S. Navy, where he retired in 2006.

He graduated from North Central State College in 1999 and most recently worked in logistics at XPO Global.

David was a member of the VFW Post 5101 in Lexington and enjoyed collecting Star Trek memorabilia and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Frances M. (Bridges) Yosick, whom he married March 30, 1985; two sons, Nathaniel Yosick, of Mansfield, and Michael J. (Brittany) Yosick, of Bellville; mother Susie (Carpenter) Yosick; two sisters, Diana (Jim) Haley and Ruth Detillion, both of Shelby; one brother, Richard (Kathy) Yosick, of Columbia, S.C., and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth; sister, Annette; brother, Kenny Jr. and paternal grandparents, Frank and Lillian Yosick.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016 at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory. Father Chris Mileski will officiate with interment held in Oak Grove Memorial Park in Lexington, where military honors will be provided by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial expressions may be made to the Special Olympics at 1133 19th Street NW, 12th Floor, Washington, DC 20036-3604.
