Bobby L. Gilliam, 65, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away on Jan. 21, 2016 at his residence.

Bobby was born to Kermit and Mabel (Duncan) Gilliam on July 5, 1950 in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Bobby was the life of the party. He enjoyed tinkering with his gadgets, tools and toys, and also enjoyed antique cars. He loved his garage sale and flea market finds. Bobby collected sports cards and pocket knives. He loved to travel, especially to Tennessee and back home to Kentucky.

He could often be seen enjoying time with friends and family. He lived life his way and to the fullest, with a Miller Lite in hand.

Bobby married Jackie Rose on May 3, 1991. He was a proud Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of the AmVets and a former member of the Masons, Moose, Shriners, VFW, Legion and Eagles. Bobby was also a business agent for Local #1216 and retired after more than 30 years of service.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Jackie Gilliam, of Mansfield; his daughter, Jolene (Glen) Johnson-Kline, of Mansfield; his two sons, David (Missy) Boggs, of Galion, and Stephen Boggs, of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Brady, Abby, Cristianna, and Tyler Boggs; two great-grandchildren, Tyler “TJ” and Emma Wiseman; one brother, Dallas (Bonnie) Gilliam, of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two special friends, Bruce Henderson, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Jason Tanner of Mansfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and too many friends to count.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Willis Gilliam, and Carlos Gilliam; and one sister, Joann “Susie” Gilliam.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. A gathering will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016 at the Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky at 1 p.m. followed by a graveside service at Webb Cemetery.
