Alma L. Cline, 87, passed away Thursday morning, Dec. 13, 2018, at Mansfield Place.

She was born June 7, 1931, in Emerson, Kentucky, one of nine children of the late Add and Lola (Bond) Sammons.

She was a devoted member of First Wesleyan Church for over 70 years. Alma was a church greeter for over 25 years, taught Sunday school, worked in the Children’s church and was a member of the Ladies Missionary Society. She loved reading her Bible and praying. There was no greater prayer warrior than Alma. She enjoyed gardening and canning the wonderful bounty from her gardens.

She is survived by a daughter, Deborah (Ed) Marker, of Portland, Tennessee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer H. Cline; and eight siblings, Paul Sammons, Demas Sammons, Noah Sammons, Jenny Henderson, Leona Morgan, Judy Stone, an infant sister, Ruth Sammons and an infant brother, Wallace Sammons.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, at First Wesleyan Church, 1908 Park Avenue West, Ontario, Ohio. The funeral service will be held in the church on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Keith Carlisle and Mike Stigall officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Oak Grove Memorial Park, Lexington.
