This class will consist of an overview presentation of the election process, with a hands-on demonstration of the proper way to set up the voting equipment. A schedule of other training sessions will be distributed to the attendees at this class.

Compensation for attending this training in the amount of $25 is included with the worker’s check for working the polls on Election Day. In total, approximately seven hours of training is required, divided among three training sessions.

In addition to this first class, a new poll worker must attend the class for Electronic Poll Book training and a standard class to review specific procedures such as processing Provisional Ballots. Poll Workers are compensated at the rate of $120 for regular Judge/Clerks, $130 for Presiding Assistants, and $140 for Presiding Judges. Poll workers are required to assist with the set-up of the polling location on the Monday preceding an election. They are also required to work on Election Day from 5:30 a.m. until the close of polls at 7:30 p.m.
