State Senator Larry Obhof (R–Medina) announced an opportunity for local residents to obtain tickets for the governor’s 2014 State of the State Address, which will be held at the Medina Performing Arts Center on Feb. 24.
“This is a great opportunity for local residents to participate in the democratic process,” Obhof said. “People attending the speech will have the opportunity not just to hear the governor, but to interact with state legislators from around Ohio.”
Ohioans wishing to attend the address in person may submit their names online at http://Governor.Ohio.gov/Tickets to become eligible for a random ticket drawing.
The sign up period will remain active until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18. Those selected for tickets by random lottery will be notified via email by 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
This is the third year in a row the formal address has been moved from the Statehouse into communities across Ohio, including previous speeches given in both Steubenville and Lima.
