Children from the local Modern Woodmen of America youth service club recently experienced a living history lesson and strengthened relationships with their elders through the organization’s Sharing with Seniors Program.

The Sharing with Seniors Program gives youth club members and senior citizens an opportunity to interact and build intergenerational relationships.

“It’s really a fun and educational experience for everyone involved,” said Theresa, local Modern Woodmen youth club leader. “This develops relationships between kids and seniors that may not have happened otherwise.”

The Mansfield club is one of approximately 900 clubs nationwide that provide young Modern Woodmen members with opportunities to volunteer, be patriotic, learn new skills, make friends and have fun. Club members donate more than 300,000 hours of volunteer service each year.
